Estimating a hvac job
An HVAC estimate prices a system replacement or install. The generator is pre-filled with equipment, installation labor and a permit/disposal/startup line — adjust them for the system.
An HVAC estimate should state the equipment make, model and capacity (tons/BTU and SEER), separate equipment from installation labor and from permit/disposal/startup, and note the warranty and any available rebates. Flag ductwork that may need modification.
List the SEER rating and model number — it lets the customer compare apples to apples and qualifies them for utility or federal efficiency rebates, which you can mention as a note to help close the sale.

Frequently asked questions
How do I estimate an HVAC installation?
List the equipment (with make, model, capacity and SEER), installation labor, and permit/disposal/startup as separate lines, and note the warranty. The generator pre-fills these lines and an acceptance line — edit them, add a note about ductwork or rebates, set a validity date, and download a PDF.
Should an HVAC estimate mention rebates?
It helps — note any utility or federal efficiency rebates the chosen system qualifies for, since they can meaningfully lower the customer’s net cost and make a higher-SEER unit an easy yes. Keep it as a note; the line items still show the full price.
What should an estimate include?
A clear estimate has the word “Estimate” and a unique number, your business and contact info, the client’s name, the date and how long the price is valid, an itemized breakdown of labor and materials with quantities and rates, the subtotal and estimated total, plus terms and a line for the client to accept. The generator includes a field for each.
How long should an estimate be valid?
Thirty days is the common default, which is the tool’s starting value. Setting a clear validity window protects you if material or labor costs rise — after it expires you can re-price the job. The “valid until” date fills in automatically from the date and the validity period you enter.
Is the estimate generator free?
Yes — completely free, with no account, no watermark and no limit. It runs entirely in your browser, so your client and pricing details stay on your device, and your business info is saved locally so you don’t retype it next time.
